Weekly Hawaii Airfare Trend from LAX (10/31/2010)

Airfare from LAX to Hawaii is going up a little bit this week. Dates in November for LAX-to-Honolulu are in the $390-420 range RT and December rates are in the $320-$900 range. Higher rates are typically near Christmas. Maui airfare is in the $500 range RT. The past few years, there were some really good last-minute deals in November, so we’ll see if they appear for 2010.

Hawaiian Airlines November 2010 LAX to HNL $368 RT

Hawaiian Airlines has a great deal on airfare from LAX to HNL. Many dates in November are $184/each way for a total of $368/RT before taxes. I prefer Hawaiian Airlines since they offer meals and snacks on their flights, which is great for a vacation trip.

Hawaiian Airlines has a sale on flights to HNL through June 10, 2010. Sample roundtrip fares in June from LAX to HNL is around $361 after taxes, depending on the departure dates. This is one of the lowest prices of the year.

Hawaiian Airlines adding new planes for 2010

Hawaiian airlines are adding new Airbus A330-200 planes for the LAX to HNL route starting June 2010. The new planes feature in-flight entertainment from the seat, which will be something to look forward to. Currently, their planes only have overhead video screens that are shared across multiple seats. If you are planning to visit Hawaii next summer from LAX, it might be worth looking into.

Hawaiian Airlines Meal Photo 11/2009

Airline meal on Hawaiian Airlines from Honolulu back to LAX on an evening flight on 11/2009. They offered two choices of pasta or a turkey sandwich croissant. Premium meal options included sushi rolls or taco salad for $10. The pasta was very tasty and the chocolate cake was good. I’ll definitely go with Hawaiian Airlines if it’s within $40 of other carriers for the hot meals alone. They offer drinks after takeoff, during the meal, and coffee/water after the meal, which is a nice touch.
