Honolulu Holiday Inn 3 nights $564 including airfare

admin | August 1, 2009

UPDATE: Deal has expired 8/31. I suggest looking at the Orbitz deal with the $200 off a 6+ night stay on a vacation package.

There’s a great deal on Expedia right now for solo travellers! $200 off Holiday Inn vacation packages (air+hotel) for 3 days or more. Usually, you need to travel with double occupancy to take advantage of travel deals.  Double occupancy travellers can take advantage of this by booking separately (6 days minimum for both travellers) by using the “I only need hotel for part of the stay” option. To find the hotel, enter “holiday inn” in the hotel name section. This also works for many hotels across the USA too.

How to redeem: Sign in to your Expedia.com user account. After selecting a qualifying vacation package, on the vacation package billing and delivery page you will see the link “I have a coupon”. Click on this link and enter the code 200IHG

Hawaii Beach Safety

admin | December 13, 2008

Here are some useful resources for Hawaii Beach safety.

When scheduling a trip to Hawaii, make sure you avoid the times when box jellyfish are around, usually eight to 10 days after a full moon. They usually are around for 2-3 days and then leave for the month. For more information on box jellyfish, go to 808jellyfish.com

When to go to Hawaii

admin | January 15, 2008

The Dry Season
Highs of 84°F and lows of 70°F
April – October

The Humid Season
Highs of 81°F and lows of 65°F

November – April
Tropical storms may occur during the humid season.

If you are on a budget, May and October are good months to visit Hawaii. Its not as hot and the airfare/hotel prices are generally less than during peak season.

How come Weather.com is forecasting rain for the entire vacation?
Weather.com doesn’t account for rainy conditions on the entire island, just one location. A lot of times, it can be sunny on one side of the island and rainy on the other side.  I would try using http://www.hawaiiweathertoday.com for weather information.
