There’s a sale going on right now for the Entertainment Book. $12 — today only. Its usually over $30 and on eBay for $25+. The Entertainment Book has good deals for activities, such as the AirVentures in Kauai and luau discounts. From my experience, the deals are better than the ads/flyers/magazines at the airports.

The discounts on movie tickets alone are worth the $12. Regal Theaters $7 movie ticket coupons, Free popcorn with purchase of a large drink, and free admission on your birthday. Safeway $5 off $50 coupons are good too, especially when groceries are expensive in Hawaii.

Hawaii Vacation $399 w/ airfare and room

This is a great deal for Hawaii at $399/pp! Airfare is usually in the $350-$400 range, so its like getting the room and car rental for free. Travel is valid through March 7 and April 12 – June 7.

Hawaiian Airlines adding new planes for 2010

Hawaiian airlines are adding new Airbus A330-200 planes for the LAX to HNL route starting June 2010. The new planes feature in-flight entertainment from the seat, which will be something to look forward to. Currently, their planes only have overhead video screens that are shared across multiple seats. If you are planning to visit Hawaii next summer from LAX, it might be worth looking into.

Dining: Rainbow Drive-In

Rainbow Drive-In is a well known place for tasty Hawaiian mixed plate lunches at great prices. This place is always packed. We had the Mixed plate which consisted of chicken katsu, mahi mahi katsu, and BBQ beef. One thing that stands out is the quality of the meat, which adds to the experience. The slush was really good. It reminded me of an Icee with a fruit punch flavor. Lots of people were ordering loco moco and the beef stew special as well. The Mixed plate was only $7.25, a great deal. Recommended!
